I understand toxicity as introducing poison into a previously healthy environment. Many factors can alter an atmosphere, including, but not limited to resentment, suppressed issues gone unaddressed, jealousy, insecurities, overstaying our time, and un-forgiveness.
Usually we have no problem with identifying a toxic environment. What becomes more complicated is if we are contributing to the toxicity or the cause.
Are we the thermometer or the thermostat in our environments? A thermometer reflects the temperature, but a thermostat determines the temperature.
I pray that we have open ears to hear & the courage to change when our actions, words, and demeanor do not reflect Christ.
In Jesus name.
