When I released my 2nd book I sent it to people in the community and also outside our community.
Specifically- I sent Bible Study Perspectives: Genesis Vol. II to Priscilla Shirer.
Priscialla Shirer has written tons of book, starred in War Room and other movies, is the daughter of Dr. Tony Evans, and speaks internationally across the globe.
I don’t know her, have never met her, and she doesn’t know me.
I sent her the book because in lesson/perspective #6 “Blessings and Burdens,” I mention her family’s book “Divine Disruption: Holding on to Faith When Life Breaks Your Heart” a 2021 book by the Evans, Hurst, and Shirer family.
I let her know the book blessed me- because it did. It’s an excellent read if you are grabbling with loss, tragedy, and faith. I expected nothing- in fact I forgot I sent the book and letter. Months later, I received a postcard in the mail from Priscilla.
Y’all.
I was so taken aback. She wrote back- I know this woman is the definition of busy.
It was an incredibly kind gesture AND she prayed a blessing over my book.
I love the example that Priscilla set of encouraging others. We never know the impact a kind word will have in someone else’s life.
How do you encourage others? &/or how has someone encouraged you?
